I’ve been what feels like failing at my newsletter for years. I have all of these good intentions, but to be honest the platform I was using just wasn’t a good fit for me. It always left me wanting and so - the newsletter and all my little thoughts would be set aside or worse, phoned in. Quick updates or what felt like forced shares rather than the community building I’ve spent the last decade doing online. Traditional blogs are amazing, but that has also felt more like past me rather than the future and so I’ve been quietly stalking substack, and building up the courage to show up here.
There’s so much I love about this platform. It kind of feels like a one stop shop for those of us who still like to read, but also love social media and the connective feeling that platforms like this one offer.
So, I’m here (!) - excited and nervous and hoping that you’ll hang out with me. We’ll be talking all things style, decor, vintage shopping, thrifting - waxing poetic over dining chairs and all of the warm fuzzy feelings elicited from the smallest joys like hanging a silly little plate on the wall. There will be the occasional fashion post - who knows maybe not so infrequent. I want to talk about what I love, at any given moment and share the little details, my inspirations or lack there of.
If you’re from the Deeply Madly sphere you know me for interiors, secondhand finds and hopefully my Youtube series Home Decor Homies. But, I started my online career talking fashion, which by default also meant I talked a lot about inclusivity as a person living in a larger body. There was a lot of work and fight and incredible strides made by my peers and I, which has recently fully unraveled. So we’ll sometimes talk about that as well.
I hope this newsletter will function as a community hub of sorts. We connect in the comments and in the chats!
Love you, mean it!
Kellie
